Whether it’s hot weather, sandy shores or intriguing history you’re looking for, Greece offers up all three by the bucket-load. It’s no surprise it’s such a popular place to holiday – 13 million tourists make a beeline for it every year. Jump on a Greek cruise and you could drop anchor on Crete, Greece’s greenest isle. You could also stop by the port of Piraeus and make a beeline for all the ancient landmarks of Athens. Or whizz over to the beach on the blue-and-white island of Mykonos. Alternatively, if your ship docks at Thira on Santorini, you’ll have whitewashed towns to explore.

You’ll need your best decision-making skills when it comes to our excursions – there’s heaps to choose from. From Mykonos, you can join a boat tour to the small island of Delos, nestled in the heart of the Cyclades. There’ll be plenty of photo opportunities here, with highlights of the tour including a visit to the ancient Temple of Apollo. On Santorini, meanwhile, you can head out on the hunt for volcanoes and thermal pools by taking a boat ride to the volcanic island of Nea Kameni. And in Athens, there are loads of ways to explore the city, from walking to the top of the Acropolis to taking a hop-on-hop-off bus tour.
